What a ceramic coating is — and isn’t
A ceramic coating is a clear liquid that hardens into a thin layer on your paint. It adds gloss and makes the paint easier to keep clean.
It is not a shield against stone chips or scratches — for that, paint protection film goes on first and the coating can go on top.
Before the coating goes on, the paint is washed, cleaned of the grit a normal wash leaves behind and polished where it needs it. The coating then seals in that finish, so the better the paint underneath, the better the result.

Does a ceramic coating stop scratches?
No. It adds gloss and makes washing easier, but it is a thin layer. For stone chips, paint protection film is the answer.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
It depends on the coating and how the car is washed and kept. We’ll go through it with you before you book.
Do I need paint correction first?
If the paint has swirls or light scratches, correcting it first means the coating seals in a better finish.
Can I have a coating and PPF?
Yes. The film goes on first and the coating goes over the film and the rest of the paint.
How do I look after a ceramic coating?
Wash by hand with a pH-neutral car shampoo and a clean microfiber mitt, and skip automatic washes with brushes.
Can you coat a new car?
Yes. A new car often needs only a light polish before the coating goes on.
